COACHING ETHICS STATEMENT

At The 40+ Collective, coaching is built on trust, respect, integrity and personal responsibility. Our role is to provide a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental environment in which clients can explore their thoughts, beliefs, goals and aspirations. We believe that every individual has the capacity for growth, change and self-discovery, regardless of age, background or life circumstances.

We Commit To:

Respect

Every client will be treated with dignity, compassion and respect. We recognise that each person’s experiences, beliefs and life journey is unique.

Confidentiality

Information shared during coaching sessions will be treated as confidential except where disclosure is required by law or where there is a risk of serious harm to the client or another person.

Professional Boundaries

We will maintain clear professional boundaries at all times and act in the best interests of our clients.

Client Autonomy

Coaching is a partnership. Clients remain responsible for their own decisions, actions, and outcomes. We do not seek to direct, control, or make decisions on behalf of clients.

Inclusion

We welcome clients from all backgrounds and strive to create an inclusive environment free from discrimination.

Honesty

We will be transparent about what coaching can and cannot provide and will not make unrealistic promises or guarantees.

Every individual’s circumstances, experiences, commitment, and personal journey are different. While coaching is designed to support personal growth, increased self-awareness, improved confidence and meaningful change, we cannot and do not guarantee any specific outcomes. Any examples, testimonials, case studies, success stories or descriptions of potential benefits are provided for illustrative purposes only. Results may vary significantly from person to person.

Participation in coaching does not guarantee:

Clients remain fully responsible for their own decisions, actions, and results.

Testimonials Disclaimer

Testimonials displayed on this website represent the genuine experiences of individual clients. They are provided to illustrate the types of experiences clients may have through coaching. Testimonials should not be interpreted as a guarantee that current or future clients will achieve similar results. Every individual is unique and outcomes will depend on a variety of factors including personal circumstances, commitment, effort, and readiness for change.

Refund Policy

We are committed to providing a professional and supportive coaching experience. Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details.

Discovery Calls

Discovery calls are provided without obligation and are non-refundable.

Coaching Packages

Where payment is made for a coaching package, refunds are generally not available once coaching has commenced. This is because coaching services involve the reservation of time, preparation and professional expertise.

Exceptional Circumstances

Refund requests arising from exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Coach Cancellation

If we are unable to deliver the agreed coaching service and an alternative arrangement cannot be made, a refund for any unused sessions may be offered.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Complaints Procedure

We strive to provide a high-quality coaching experience. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our services, we encourage you to raise your concerns as soon as possible.

Please submit your complaint in writing to: cookie@the40pluscollective.com

Include:

Your name
Details of your concern
Relevant dates
Desired outcome

Step 2

We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 5 working days.

Step 3

We will investigate the matter fairly and provide a written response within 28 working days where reasonably possible.

Step 4

Where appropriate, we may propose a resolution through discussion, clarification, mediation or other mutually agreed action.

Communication Between Sessions

Coaching sessions are the primary method of support. Between-session communication is intended for administrative matters, scheduling and brief questions only.

Response Times

Emails will typically receive a response within two business days. Messages received outside normal working hours may not be reviewed until the next business day.

Emergencies

Coaching is not an emergency service. If you require urgent medical, psychological or crisis support, please contact the appropriate emergency services or your healthcare provider.

Respectful Communication

All communication should remain respectful and professional. We reserve the right to terminate coaching relationships where communication becomes abusive, threatening or inappropriate.

Discovery Call Terms

The purpose of a discovery call is to explore whether coaching is an appropriate fit for both parties. The call is informational and exploratory in nature. Participation in a discovery call does not create a coaching relationship. No coaching services will commence until a formal agreement has been accepted. Information shared during the call will be treated respectfully and confidentially. No guarantees are made regarding future coaching outcomes.

Safeguarding and Crisis Support

Coaching is designed to support personal growth and development. It is not intended to replace mental health treatment, crisis intervention, medical care or emergency services.

If you are experiencing any of the below issues, please seek immediate support:

Experiencing severe emotional distress
At risk of harming yourself
At risk of harming others
Experiencing a mental health crisis

Where a coach believes there is a serious risk of harm, confidentiality may be broken where legally and ethically appropriate.
